Gone Fishing?

One of our friends Tiffany Lam is going to be doing an internship with IVCF this September, here’s a letter from her:

Hey ACF!

I hope you’ve been having a great summer! Some of you may or may not know that I will be doing an internship with Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship this September. I’ve spoken to a handful of you about the internship so I figured I might as well tell everyone!

1) Why did I decide to intern? “And Jesus said to Simon, “Do not fear, from now on you will be catching men.” When they had brought their boats to land, they left everything and followed Him” (Luke 5:10-11). Just like Simon Peter, I believe God has called me into this internship to experience what it means to be a “fisherman” on campus. He has transformed my life through His Word as well as leading others in His Word. This internship is the next step of the journey to leadership development, personal growth, and most importantly, bringing others into fully committed followers of Jesus.

2) What will I be doing as an intern? My placement is at the University of Toronto with the Multi-Ethnic Fellowship and Ontario College of Arts and Design University (OCAD). I will be discipling and focusing on intentional relationships with students through large group and one-on-one meetings. I will also be living in an intern house with two other interns and IVCF staff.

3) How you can help? I need to raise $12,000 by May 2013 to cover the expenses of the internship (accommodation, training, food). By September 1st 2012, I need to raise $9,000. Would you please consider supporting me financially, as well as in prayer? Instructions on donations and prayer items can be found in the attached prayer letter.

I don’t know if I was able to personally thank everyone who came to the fundraiser BBQ at 55 Essex in April, but we raised $297.67! It has been really great getting to know you and to see you come and support me and my housemates.

You can find all these things in my prayer letter (Fundraising Letter – Tiffany Lam). If you have any questions, please feel free to email or call me.

Love,
Tiff
